The Person Centred Learning Network

Do we ever have enough time? If you're like me, you're jumping from one thing to another, barely able to keep up with yourself and never having the time to just STOP and THINK about what I am doing, and why.

One of my pet hates while helping to build the personalisation movement in Lincolnshire is when someone says:

"Oh, I'm person-entred in all I do." or "Of course we work in a person-centred way - it's just what we do."

But is it really?

Do we allow ourselves to be honest in our work and ask, "Am I really working in a person-centred way, or have I got into habits that I don’t even notice?"

We are battling time from every angle, and having time (or making time) to honestly reflect is a gift we should give ourselves.

Facilitating the Person-Centred Learning Network has helped me to just STOP and THINK for one hour, once a month.

It doesn’t sound much, but that opportunity to meet with like-minded people, to explore a topic, ask ourselves questions, and challenge our own pre-conceptions has always proved to be an hour well spent.

Even if we go off-topic, it doesn’t matter – we are exploring our thoughts, beliefs, challenges, and opportunities and maybe noticing some of those unhelpful habits that have sneaked in over time.

So, I look forward to spending some time thinking and exploring with you!
