'Its All About People' Champions
January 2024 has seen the launch of our new ‘It's All About People' champions initiative. We have identified approximately 50 individuals throughout Lincolnshire who have demonstrated their passion and commitment to working in a personalised and strengths based way. These champions will promote personalisation and strengths-based approaches and will play a vital role by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and contributing to a positive culture change. The role does not mean any additional work for our champions as such, it just involves continuing to put ‘people’ at the heart of everything they do and therefore being a role model to others and influencing behaviour change. We are also hoping to get our champions together regularly so that they can support one another too.
The response to our initial email informing people of their nomination has been overwhelmingly positive which is fantastic. Some of the comments we have received are:

The initial champions who have been identified are only those who the Personalisation Team are aware of, we are sure there are more. We already have a range of different roles including practitioners, volunteers, heads of service and people with lived experience who have accepted the challenge, but we would love to have more. We know that there are many people who demonstrate the values of personalisation throughout Lincolnshire, some are doing this on their own, others are in larger supportive teams. If you want to nominate yourself or another person to become an ‘It’s all about People’ champion then please email alisonx.smith@lincolnshire.gov.uk initially.
In time we are aiming to have a champions page on our website which will include photographs and biographies for each of our champions. This will form a new network of people who can become messengers and support people to learn more about working in a more personalised way. You will start to see and hear more about the champions in our newsletters and podcasts too as they share some of their experiences. Keep an eye and ear out for more updates as this progresses. Once developed you will also be able to nominate new champions on the website too.
Anyone lucky enough to become an ‘It’s all about People’ champion’ will also receive one of our new badges below to add to their email signature, to really spread the word and show how proud they are to be a champion. What more could you ask for?

Identified individuals, passionate about personalised interactions, will play a vital role by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and contributing to a positive culture change.

Role:
- • Promote personalisation and strengths-based approaches in Lincolnshire
- • Share knowledge and passion for personalised interactions
- • Demonstrate a commitment to the 5 Foundations from Our Shared Agreement
Responsibilities:
- • Advocate for personalisation and support peers
- • Share positive stories and experiences
- • Promote technology's role in personalised and strengths based approaches
- • Suggest resolutions for challenges, signposting to the personalisation team when required
- • Actively engage in the champions network
- •Attend quarterly virtual sessions and contribute to newsletters, web features or podcasts
