How do you know it's working?

Data sources, such as a clinical management system, will tell us the number of personalised care plans there are and how many people have had an activation level measured, etc. They also produce reports and feed the Lincolnshire Joint Data Set which means we get a detailed, data-driven, insight into the population's health.

However, whilst it's important to know statistics like 'how many Shared Decision Making conversations have taken place with or without an aid', it can also be misleading to think that is the only way of understanding impacts. The counting doesnt tell us what benefit that conversation had or the success of the tailoring that was done for a person.

Using both qualitive and quantitive measures is the most beneficial and it is currently being done using people's experiences. Find out more, below.

Social Value Engine

Colleagues in Lincolnshire have been using the Social Value Engine in order to work out the social return of investments made. For example;

JG (member of the public) attended the Grantham Joint Aches and Pains event. They explained what changes they had made to their health behaviours as a result of the day. The engine informed us that a social and economic value of £3.72 was returned for every £1 invested.
